Finally, my dreams are realized...or are they... +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Impressions: First thing first, I must say, I had high hopes for this thing. I love my racing games, and a wheel for it?... Life couldn't be better. It's actually very well designed, for what it can do. It seems to be made of nothing but plastic, so it feels cheaply made, but it hasn't broken on me yet. The GBA is snapped in the middle of the wheel, behind the actual unit, where a perfect-sized hole is there so you can see the screen. It stands on it's own due to a small built in stand that also angles the GBA to be seen in most lighting conditions. The A and B buttons are on the wheel itself, and turn with the wheel, but can be pressed even when you turn it. This is due to the fact that the buttons on the wheel push the actual GBA buttons. Up and Down stay put on the face of the wheel, since most racing games dont' require it, as do Start and Select. There's a little speaker hole so that the GBA sound came come through, but L and R and left untouched and the player must hit the actual buttons on the GBA, instead of a substitute button like all the others. It makes it hard that way, especially when you turn the wheel and use the L or R at the same time, like in Mario Kart, because it just feels uncomfortable to the hands. Now I said it was well designed, but it's not really a good idea. Racing Wheels should be analog in control, and this one makes an effort to emulate that, but due to the fact that the GBA itself is Digital, it just feels awkward. Often times I found myself slightly turning the wheel like I would do in a real car for a gentle turn, yet my character would never turn. Or worse, coming out of a sharp turn, I would gently ease the wheel back to center, and the character would often continue to turn, because with the digital control, it's either all or nothing. Liked: The design of the wheel really was good. It was very smart, and had the GBA been analog, it would've been perfect for it. Hated: Really, the only thing wrong with it is that it's made for digital GBA, but tries to be Analog control. Sometimes, you can't have it both ways, and this is one of those times. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Improve: Make an analog GBA or something. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Final Words: I recommend it only if you're like me, and must have everything Game Boy, no matter how crappy. It makes a nice, if useless addition to a collection. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Score: 20% +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Secrets: Well, there are four slots that can hold GBA games, although they were not clearly designed for that. It's just convienent, is all.
