Wario Ware Inc. Mega Microgame$ Game by Wario!! Oh yeah, those-a guys at Nintendo helped, too. Reviewed by some-a smartass named-a Foxlord Foxlord@aol.com Size: Wario is the biggest thing in gaming right now! AHAHAHAHAHA! Have a rotten day! Save: Automatic battery Back-up! Wario thinks of everything! Released: May 2003 Works with: Gameboy Advance Exclusive **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: Yeah, those guys at Nintendo are defidentally smokin the Waka Laka. Just the sheer idea of a game like this is insane. Then again they have what I like to call "The Miyazaki strategy" that means they use their Imagination! Much like the plot and characters of the Anime "Spirited Away:, this game is just pure imagination. it's smart, funny and innovative. you have never played anything like it before in your life I guarantee you. Just like you'd never seen a film like "Spirited Away". Note: For those of you who don't know Miyazasi-san, he is the creater of such brilliant films as "Castle in the Sky, Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, and the Animated Series "Sherlock Hound" aka, the man is a genius. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: When this game first came to my attention I thought "How could playing 200+, 5 second microgames, be any fun at all?" then I thought to myself "Don't think about it, just play it." The brilliance, and fun, of this game is: how the games are presented, their variety and pace, is what makes this game a true joy to play. You have these strange minigames, being thrown to you one after another, without any instruction at all, so you have to figure them out; plus the games get faster and faster; testing your reflexes, your button mashing skills, your memory, your sanity, and most importantly, your sence of humor. In Short: this game's presentation, along side it's fantastic variety and execution, is what makes it a true joy to play. Liked: Everything Hated: Nothing **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: Excellent! just...absolutely excellent! the attention to detail is absolutely amazing. The old Nintendo games' graphics are faithful in everyway, especially the 3D effects in F-Zero. The graphical variety of the various microgames is unbelievable, everything from a digital picture of a collie, who's paws you have to shake or else he'll cry. The goofy hand-drawn graphics of Wario munching on a hotdog, to the cartoony animation of the various characters. They have to be seen to be believed! Liked: All of them! Hated: None of them! **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: The sound is outstanding! the old NES and SNES microgames have their original music. the sound effects are humerous and the various music for the characters and their microgames are well done, too. The level with the cab drivers even has Japanese vocals! just...amazing stuff! Liked: Oh Yeah! all of it! Hated: Not at all! **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: All the microgames use only the A button and/or the directional pad. The games all respond fairly well, the only trick to them is you don't know how to play them the first time. When you see a new microgame as you play through story mode, you have to figure it out for yourself, after that they are available on their characters' game grid, and with that you get a description and play directions. Liked: Great play control. Hated: Not really, all the games responded fairly well. **************************************************************************** Improve: Easy! more microgames! and more unlockables! Remake the "Legend of Zelda" into "The Legend of Wario!" RIYL: Any of the Game and Watch Gallery games, any Wario game, Konami arcade Classics, Namco Museum. **************************************************************************** Final Words: In a sence this is the way all games should be made, it appears that the creators had as much fun being goofy while making this game, as we all do enjoying this masterpiece. Plus, in today's day and age where games are all cookie-cutter 3rd person anti-terrorism shooters, and re-hashed card games *coughs!Yu-gi!coughs!* It's good to know that there are developers out there who aren't afraid to use their imaginations and just have fun! Bravo Nintendo! that's why you are the greatest and I applaud you! My top 5 favorite Microgame$: Hide Wario's Gut, Shake paws with the collie, Help Wario eat the hotdog, Cut the juicy Steak, and Quickie Quiz! (Foxlord notes that the leaf in some of the Quickie Quizzes is a Marijuana leaf) =) **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: ***** Graphics: ***** Sound/Music: ***** Play Control/Game Design: ***** Personal Opinion: ***** Total: 25 Final Score: 100% **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: Score 25 or more in all of Jimmy's stages!
